What does the Bible say about homosexuality?

The Bible teaches that God created marriage and sexuality for the union between a man and a woman (Matthew 19:4–5). Sexual relations between people of the same sex are presented as sin, just like other behaviors contrary to the divine design (Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26–27; 1 Corinthians 6:9–10).

It is important to distinguish between temptation and practice. Feeling an attraction is not the same as acting on it. We all face desires that do not always reflect the will of God, but we are responsible for our decisions (Galatians 5:16).

The Bible also teaches that no sin is greater than another and that forgiveness is available to everyone. In 1 Corinthians 6:11 it is reminded that many believers practiced different sins in the past, but they were washed and transformed by Christ.

The central message of the gospel is not to condemn, but to offer restoration and new life through Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17).
